Jamie is focused on holding the education field in high regards, by partnering with the university to promote theeducation field. Jamie also dedicates her time to Girl Scouts Louisiana East and Youth Run Nola to further impact today’s youth. She is passionate about inspiring children to find their niche and passion as well! Jamie is focused on student growth and changing the hearts and minds of struggling students. She teaches students to think about their growth and the power of “yet,” a way of encouraging children to envision what they can know and do. “I begin to hear the children speak differently, and the students themselves begin to take notice in how they have grown and how they have become much better at something,” Staes said. “Students realize they are allowed to make mistakes, and they begin to try more and they feel more confident trying and asking questions.” Jamie has been effective as an educator due to implementing growth mindset in everything she does!
